Fresh basil is full of amazing flavour.

It’s a key herb in Mediterranean cooking, essential to the delicious Italian pesto, and is becoming more and more popular in the kitchen.

It is for this reason we have chosen to grow it.

A lot of Basil in Irish supermarkets is imported, especially out of season. Much of it arrives having come a long distance and as such expires quickly and loses its freshness.

Our basil can be on the supermarket shelf or in a restaurant kitchen within hours of harvest. 

Butter lettuce or butterhead lettuce, is a variety of green lettuce that has a soft, delicate texture. This is where it derives it's name rather than its flavour, which is  mild and sweet.

It forms with a heart in the centre into a compact head with smooth green leaves perfect for sandwiches and salads.
